CONGERS -

A train smashed into a car in Rockland County over the weekend, and it was all caught on video.

Clarkstown police say a car became stranded on the crossing at Lake Road in Congers around 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

They say the driver was able to get out before a southbound train slammed into the vehicle. The driver was OK, but the car is likely totaled.

The crossing was closed for an hour while the track was checked for safety.
