President Trump awards Purple Heart to Somers soldier

President Donald Trump awarded a soldier from Somers the Purple Heart.

Lt. Victor Prado was injured last month while deployed in Afghanistan after serving in the army for two years.

President Trump traveled to the Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland where Prado is receiving treatment to deliver the award.

The Purple Heart is the country's oldest military award given to soldiers injured in battle.
