Outgoing county executive vetoes Westchester's 2018 budgetPosted: Updated:
Outgoing Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino has vetoed the approved 2018 budget that includes a 2 percent property tax hike.
County legislators approved the budget last week.
Democrats say the need the extra funding to plug a $100 million hole in the budget.
As News 12 has reported, Astorino's spending plan includes money from the privatization of the county airport, but Democrats argue that isn't a done deal yet.
Legislators need 12 votes to override a veto, which is the number of votes the spending plan got to pass the first time.
