Former NBA player Chris Herren warns students about dangers of drug use

Posted: Updated:

A former NBA player spoke to Dobbs Ferry High School students about the dangers of drug use.

Chris Herren played basketball for the Boston Celtics but lost it all because of drug addiction.

For the past seven years he's traveled the country speaking to teens about his struggle to overcome his addiction in hope of making a difference in their lives. "The goal is that, you know, there's a kid, somebody that will work and challenge themselves to be better, to get better, to reach out for help, to start over," says Herren.

Herron also spoke at Mercy College, saying if his story can change one person's life, it's all worth it.
