Shoppers filed into hardware stores Saturday, eager to buy shovels, salt and sand as snow blanketed Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
News 12 was at Lowes in Yonkers, where shoppers seemed excited about the first snowfall of the season.
"I'm really enjoying the White Christmas," said Hibika Honda, of Scarsdale.
John Nichols and his wife came all the way down from Brewster to score some last-minute supplies.
"We are trying to get a shovel before all of the snow comes in," said Nichols. "We did a search of all around the surrounding areas and this is the only store that had three left."
Roads in Westchester and Hudson Valley were expected to be slippery throughout the night.
