YORKTOWN -

The owner of a Yorktown charity says two burglars were caught on surveillance cameras stealing thousands of dollars from their Front Street store earlier this week.

The incident occurred at Yorktown Love in Action around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Cameras appear to show two hooded thieves spend at least 45 minutes searching for cash, which the charity uses for operating costs and to help hundreds of families buy clothing, household items and food.

Police did not say exactly how much money was taken from the store. They are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.

Love in Action founder Donna Simone said the burglary left her heartbroken.

"I just hope these guys are not using it for drugs or alcohol, but maybe they have children they need to buy things for," she told News 12.
