Bomb threat forces evacuation of Spring Valley High School

SPRING VALLEY -

A bomb threat forced the evacuation of Spring Valley High School this morning.

The district says that a teacher found a bomb threat written on a blackboard at 7:30 a.m. The note read "I've got a bomb evacuate."

Students and staff were sent outside while Spring Valley police and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department came with bomb-sniffing dogs to investigate.

After searching the school, officials say they found that there was no threat and students were sent back to class just before 9 a.m.

Some students who spoke with News 12 say they weren’t going back inside because they smelled gas in the hallways, but school officials say that's not the case.
