Greenburgh officials warn of car break-ins

GREENBURGH -

Greenburgh officials are warning residents to lock their car doors following a recent string of break-ins.

"We've had cars that have been stolen...loose change, cellphones," says Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. "A lot of people are very careless."

Feiner is launching a new initiative, including signs and extra police patrols, to keep people from falling victim to thieves.

Police say they arrested last week two teenagers from Mount Vernon for breaking into cars. They remind people to be vigilant, especially during the holiday season.
