Police: Bathrobe burglary suspect charged in Airmont

The brazen burglar, who was caught on camera wearing a bathrobe as he tried to gain access to a house in the Hudson Valley, has been arrested.

Ramapo police say Krzysztof Niepostyn, 26, of Suffern,  broke into a residence on Abbey Road in Airmont around  4:50 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators say surveillance video captured Niepostyn appearing to get stuck in the window leading to the home's kitchen. The video also showed the suspect, dressed in a bathrobe, sandals, a T-shirt and shorts, sliding over a nearby chair to him.

Police say the he took a few items from the house.

Niepostyn has been charged with burglary and has been released after posting $25,000 cash bail.
