Teen leads police on chase in Bardonia

BARDONIA -

A teen is behind bars after police say he stole a car and led them on a chase in Bardonia on Monday night.

Clarkstown police say the chase began in the area of Schweizer Lane and Ludvigh Road around 10:30 p.m. after officers spotted a reported stolen 2014 Ford Fusion.

Officials say the pursuit ended near the Nanuet fire station where the suspect ran off. A police K9 was able to track down the 16-year-old suspect from Bardonia nearby.

The teen was charged with grand larceny along with numerous other crimes and violations.  Bail was set at $5,000 and the suspect will return to court on Nov. 29.
