NEW YORK - Today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The holiday was launched in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y in New York City and the UN Foundation to encourage people to give back.

Meanwhile, Cyber Monday hit a new record of nearly $6.6 billion in sales, making it the largest U.S. online sales day ever.

The world's biggest shopping event is still China's Singles' Day earlier this month, in which e-commerce giant Alibaba had $25 billion in sales.

In the United States, top items this holiday season are the Nintendo Switch, Apple AirPods and Hatchimals.

Lastly, if you're looking for an old school gift this year, how about some baseball cards? The just-launched collectible card club costs between $12 and $30 a month.

Subscribers receive unopened packs of cards to their door, including baseball, football, basketball, or other sports like hockey and golf.

The company says it is a way for parents to share their love of old-school sports cards with the next generation of fans.
