YORKTOWN HEIGHTS -

Volunteers gathered in Yorktown Heights this weekend to collect gifts and supplies for U.S. troops.

The United For The Troops Organization teamed up with people at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School to give back to service members who were not able to make it back home for the holidays.

Organizers say more than 200 volunteers came together for the event. They say boxes were packed with things like beef jerky, CDs, ChapStick and flashlights.

The organization has hosted the event every Thanksgiving weekend since 2007.
