Hudson Valley shoppers grab last-minute Thanksgiving items

Posted: Updated:
YONKERS -

Residents across the Hudson Valley raced to get last-minute ingredients Wednesday for their Thanksgiving meals.

Ossining resident Peter Barossi braved the crowds at Stew Leonard's in Yonkers to fetch the essentials.

"The turkey, the potatoes, the onions...nothing fancy. A basic Thanksgiving dinner," he said.

Families like the Colla's had a much bigger list of items.

"We are having 15 people and my family is coming in a few hours so I am kind of flipping out," Shelly Colla said.

For those who procrastinated on their shopping, the Yonkers Stew Leonard's will be open on Thanksgiving Day.
