CONGERS -

Authorities in Rockland County are calling on the public to help get justice for a little girl who was hit by a driver in Congers Tuesday.

Clarkstown police say the 7-year-old girl was hit by a black Acura shortly after 8 a.m. They say the driver did not stop and headed east on Lakewood Drive.

Neighbors are not surprised something like this happened in the area.

"We live in an age where everyone’s in a rush, no patience. People don’t even pay attention to the road," says neighbor Billy Meseroli.

Police have not released the name of the little girl, who is at Westchester Medical Center recovering from a broken leg.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call Clarkstown police at 845-639-5800.
