Gusts blamed for downed trees, power outages

Gusty winds Sunday were blamed for some minor damage across New Jersey.
Strong winds toppled a large tree in Teaneck, blocking an entire residential street.
The more than 45-foot tree knocked down electrical lines as it came down before landing on a pickup truck.
Power was shut off to about 90 households. Teaneck police says one person was injured, but they do not know the extent of his injuries.
Neighbors say the trees on Vorhees Street are also a concern because they are old and large. A neighbor estimates one tree is at least 70 years old.
"Over the years, they just got older and they came down with wind. Or in some cases, the city inspects the trees and decides they have to come down. We had one in front of this house the city inspected it and decided it needed to come down,” says Joanne Zachary.
PSE&G crews were out clearing the damage and repairing the lines. According to its outage site, power was expected to come back on around 7.45 p.m.
