Yonkers man gets max sentence in deadly stabbingPosted: Updated:
A Yonkers man will spend the rest of his life in prison after stabbing a Rockland County man.
In August, Frank Keogh pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the killing of 50-year-old Eric Leopold in 2016. Police say that Keogh stabbed the victim 14 times near his home in Nanuet. They say Keough has a violent past and served time behind bars for a separate fatal stabbing in the Bronx.
Today in Rockland County Court in New City , Keough stood emotionless as the judge gave him the maximum sentence.
Members of Leopold’s family were in also court, and some took the opportunity to take the stand to speak face-to-face to Keogh. The victim’s brother, Jason Leopold, held back tears as he spoke about the day his brother was attacked. Family members demanded that Keogh gets life behind bars because they are fearful of their lives and believe he will strike again.
