Yonkers cold case murder from 2005 may be solvedPosted: Updated:
There is a possible break in a cold case from 2005 in Yonkers.
Police say Christopher Gonzalez, 39, who is being held in Naples, Florida, is accused of two cold case murders.
Reports say he's linked to the death of Angel Serbay, 25, whose body was found wrapped in a blanket near the Sprain Brook Parkway in 2005.
The NYPD says he's also wanted for the death of a 19-year-old in her Bronx apartment in 2000.
Gonzalez is awaiting extradition and is due back in court next month.
Authorities say Gonzalez was living a quiet life in Naples, Florida, where he worked at a Toys R Us.
State police have been tight-lipped about their investigation, but News 12 was told they have been trying to find Serbay's killer – fielding hundreds of tips, running down leads and working with Crime Stoppers to offer a reward.
Residents in the Nodine Hill section of Yonkers where Serbay lived say they hope Gonzalez's arrest is some comfort to her family.
Gonzalez has not been officially charged in Serbay's death.
