Montrose resident fears speeding cars down local roadPosted: Updated:
Some Westchester residents say they are afraid to let their kids play outside due to speeding cars.
Tami Booth lives on Kings Ferry Road in Montrose and says drivers barrel down the road despite the 30 mph speed limit.
She says she contacted Cortlandt officials about the issue over the past year to no avail.
"They haven't done a traffic survey, they haven't really done anything in my perspective that could help to mitigate the situation," she says.
The Cortlandt town supervisor did not respond to News 12's request for an on-camera interview, but she did say in previous correspondence that Westchester County police began additional patrols Monday on Kings Ferry Road.
Booth says she hasn't seen any vehicles pulled over and hasn't seen any decrease of traffic or speed.
She says after News 12 contacted the town supervisor, she was contacted to set up an interview about her concerns.
