A Blooming Grove man tells Turn to Tara that he’s had to spend thousands in response to a water company’s deteriorating water tank near his home.
Josh Leed recently took the Turn to Tara team on a tour behind his home off Sylvan Trail to show a garbage bag holding leaking pipes, live electrical wires and a rusty water tank that holds people’s drinking water.
He says when the tank fails, thousands of gallons of water pour down into his home. Leed claims it has happened at least six times in the past three years and has cost him $10,000 to install draining equipment.
He blames the owner of the equipment, Mountain Lodge Water Company, which provides seasonal drinking water to the area.
Turn to Tara did some digging and found inspections dating back to 2012 with repeated references to leaks in a tank and findings as recent as this past June of rusted, old plumbing “in need of replacement.”
Leed took his concern to the Mountain Lodge Water Company. The company told Turn to Tara over the phone that it hopes to start repairing the equipment next spring.
Turn to Tara also reached out to the state Department of Environmental Conservation, which said a Freedom of Information request had to be filled out for more information.
