For the third time in a week, Port Chester Middle School will be closed Tuesday.

The school district says it is making emergency repairs that will have to be completed before the school can reopen.

The school closed Friday after decorative concrete panels fell from the building, damaging a classroom window the night before.

The incident raised concerns about the stability and safety of the building’s 90 other panels.

The district says it’s spending up to $400,000 to make emergency repairs, including installing fencing around some areas near panels and installing safety bridges over entryways.

News 12 has been told that the school board is exploring several options for a permanent solution.  Those options will need to be developed and approved. There is no estimate on how much a project might cost.
