Chappaqua celebrates Act of Kindness Day

Residents of Chappaqua celebrated Act of Kindness Day on Monday in the hope of spreading some joy.
The day was the brainchild of Evy Rosen, who started spreading the message on her Facebook page after the 2016 election because she felt the nation coming apart at its seams.
“I wanted everyone to make kindness a priority and maybe generate a vibe of positivity on this one day,” she says.
Barry Mischken says he is so inspired by the kindness movement that he's finding ways to incorporate it in his life .
“I emailed my two daughters this morning thanking them for what they did yesterday, and a customer who needed something delivered, I am going to drop it off at her house,” he says.
Other shopkeepers joined in, handing out cards to customers and encouraging them to help spread some joy.
Organizers are hoping to make Act of Kindess Day a yearly event.
