Man injures officer while trying to flee police in Newburgh

NEWBURGH -

Officials say a man injured a police officer in the city of Newburgh.

Lamont McDonald, 27, allegedly tried to flee from officers who were responding to a large fight where a gun may have been involved.

Police say another driver, Heather Aleman, also speed off in the opposite direction down Wisner Avenue.

Both were arrested and are facing charges of driving without a license.

McDonald is also facing assault and drug charges.
