CDC: Number of overweight adults, children reach record high

WHITE PLAINS -

A new study from the Centers for Disease Control says 40 percent of adults and 19 percent of kids are overweight – both record highs.

"People are going for their lower nutritional value foods because they're busier now, people are more focused on their jobs, they have a busier lifestyle," says Dr. Kennedy.

Dr. Kennedy says a lack of exercise and sleep are also taking their toll.

"The difference of one hour [of sleep] on your health and weight is tremendous," she says.
