BROOKLYN -

A state appellate court has upheld the conviction of a Rockland County mother in the salt poisoning death of her 5-year-old son.

In 2015, Lacey Spears, 28, was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 20 years to life in the killing of her son, Garnett.

He died at Westchester Medical Center in 2014.

In its unanimous ruling, the court wrote that it found the evidence was legally sufficient to establish the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Spears’ attorneys were not available for comment.
