Report of shots fired rocks New Rochelle neighborhood

Posted: Updated:

Residents are on alert in a New Rochelle neighborhood this morning after reports of shots being fired.

Police say the call came in around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Fountain Place. They say no one was hurt. Police don't have any suspects, but their investigation is ongoing.

People who live in the area say they are upset. "Nothing bad usually happens here. It's a nice environment, and not that much violence going on. So it's really weird seeing that there's cops here," says resident Kelly James.

Officers did close a section of a street for a short time, but the road is back open this morning.
