Bank scam suspect leads police on wild chase

NEWBURGH -

Two men are now under arrest after a bank scam and a wild car chase that started in the town of Newburgh and ended in Yonkers.

Police say the duo was trying to cash fake checks using fake identifications at the Chase Bank on Route 9W.

Officers arrived while the men were leaving the bank.

One surrendered while the other suspect drove off, almost hitting an officer with his car.  The chase lasted until the second suspect crashed on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers. The suspect was taken the hospital but his condition is not known.

Police say a list of charges are pending.
