Officials are now asking the state to extend the deadline for residents to get tested for a toxic chemical.
High levels of PFOS were found last year in the City of Newburgh's water supply at Lake Washington.
So far, the Department of Health has checked the blood levels of more than 2,000 people for free. But they say thousands more still need to be tested, and they're asking for the state for more time to do so.
