MONROE -

An alert store clerk foiled an attempted robbery at a gas station in Orange County on Tuesday.

Police say Andrew Margillo, 30, of Campbell Hall, was wearing a ski mask when he stole cash from the register at the Mobil station in Monroe around 4 a.m.  They say the store clerk was in a storage room at the time, watched it happen on surveillance video and called police.
Margillo was arrested nearby on the Heritage Trail with the money still on him.

Margillo is facing numerous charges and is being held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
