Proposed dog park pits residents against Mount Vernon mayor

A proposed dog park in Mount Vernon is pitting some residents against the city's mayor.

A cleared lot in Hunts Woods Park is one of two locations being considered for the proposed dog park.

Mayor Richard Thomas announced earlier this month that Hunts Woods would be the new home to an art garden, a dog park and a free public Wi-Fi area.        

According to a statement, the city surveyed multiple neighborhoods and found that Hunts Woods would be a great location.
