Iona Prep rallies for hurricane supplies

NEW ROCHELLE -

Donations are piling up at Iona Prep in New Rochelle as students collect supplies for hurricane victims in Texas and Florida.

Members of the school’s leadership program have been packing and sorting supplies of everything from diapers, rubbing alcohol, soaps and canned foods.

Conor Lane, a junior from Bedford, is coordinating the week-long relief effort. "I really didn't have a specific reason for doing this. I did this out of the kindness of my heart. I saw those people in need and I did the best the best I can to help those people."

All the supplies will be loaded onto a tractor-trailer truck, which will leave from the school on Saturday.
