Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

The CEO of Equifax is breaking his silence on the massive data breach reported last week. In a piece published in USA Today, Richard Smith says he initially thought the impact of the hack was "limited" and promised the company was taking steps to improve its cybersecurity. Social security numbers and other personal information from about 143 million Americans has been compromised.

Nordstrom could be going private. CNBC reports a private equity firm could partner with the Nordstrom family on a buyout. Nordstrom has been beefing up its online sales and also started to experiment with smaller stores that offer services like manicures and tailoring, instead of selling clothes and jewelry.

Disney is delaying Star Wars: Episode IX's release to December 2019 and bringing in J.J. Abrams to direct in place of the departed Colin Trevorrow. Abrams helmed 2015's The Force Awakens, which earned more than $2 billion worldwide.
