Cheddar Afternoon Business Report 9/12: New streaming, self-driving cars, Yelp vs. Google

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

Cable networks including Discovery, A&E, Viacom and AMC are reportedly planning a new, all-entertainment streaming service that doesn't force users to pay for sports. The Wall Street Journal says the service will cost about $20 a month.

General Motors and its Cruise Automation Unit are getting ready to bring self-driving ready cars to market en masse. The CEO of the start-up acquired by GM last year says the pair is close to mass-producing vehicles that have all the components necessary for fully autonomous driving. When the software and regulations are ready, the cars will be able to operate without a driver.

Yelp is turning up the heat in its battle against Google. The online review site claims the tech giant is unfairly lifting photos and other content from Yelp's site and using them in its own search results for business listings. Yelp sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission saying Google was not complying with a formal request to stop using its content, a request it agreed to back in 2012.
