YONKERS -

Police raided a Yonkers stationary store on Tuesday after an investigation into illegal gambling.

Officials say the Yonkers Police Intelligence Unit executed a warrant and raided Letty's Stationary Store at 69 Riverdale Ave. just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday. They say the raid came after a month-long investigation into illegal gambling activities at the store.

According to investigators, two men, whose names have not yet been released, have been charged with possession of a forged instrument, promoting gambling, possession of a gambling device such as an electronic poker machine. Police say the pair was also selling untaxed cigarettes.

This is the second time the popular store has been raided, although people in the neighborhood tell News 12 the store is now under new ownership. In February 2017, the Intelligence Unit found poker machines, cash and other sports-betting materials in the store. Two men were arrested during that bust as well.
