Yonkers men make modest meals for those in need
A Yonkers man says he is doing all he can to help feed to homeless, and he’s doing it on his own dime.
24-year-old Quaishawn Stewart’s initiative to give meals to the homeless begins in his Highland Avenue home. He says he does what he can by giving out sandwiches or bottles of water.
Stewart’s idea stems from firsthand experience: He grew up in a shelter and lived around many peoplewho were homeless. He says now that his life is a little easier, he wants to help.
Stewart and his friend Daniel “Stitches” Lopez buy supplies for their food each week and bag up what they make to give out to those that they think need it most.
