Latimer takes on Jenkins in Democratic primary for county executivePosted: Updated:
Voters will head to the polls in less than three weeks, and one race that will be closely watched is the Democratic primary for Westchester County executive.
State Sen. George Latimer will take on Yonkers Legislator Ken Jenkins.
Latimer says he believes he's best-positioned to beat County Executive Rob Astorino in the general election. He says voters have responded to ideas about how to get the county's fiscal house in order.
Jenkins says his top priority will be making better decisions than Astorino on how to spend taxpayer dollars. He also says the good thing about this race is that voters have a clear choice.
“I’m the only one who has a plan that I’m not raising taxes,” he says.
Primary Day is Sept. 12.
