Stony Point police say they are investigating after a bicyclist crashed into the woods and died Saturday morning in Tomkins Cove.

They say the incident happened on Buckberg Road.

According to police, the man was in his 50s and was with a group of bicyclists. They say as he approached Mott Farm Road, the bicyclist went off the road and crashed into the woods.

Officials say he died at the scene. They say they do not think that the bicyclists or a vehicle was involved in his death.

Police say the man's name will not be released until his family is notified.
