GREENWOOD LAKE -

Across the United States, including in the Hudson Valley, police departments came together with the communities they served Tuesday.

It was part of “National Night Out,” a program designed to improve relationships between police departments and the communities they serve.

One event took place at CVS Field in Greenwood Lake, which had a festive atmosphere including food and games.

Members of the military, EMS and fire department attended alongside police officers.

National Night Out has been a nationwide event annually for the past 34 years.
