HARRISON -

A controversial plan to overhaul the Westchester County airport is drawing mixed reactions from residents who regarding how it could change their travel.

Officials held an informational meeting for the possible changes Thursday night, with opponents to the plan interrupting parts of the presentation. Opponents say they are worried the plan could include expansion, which may lead to increased noise, traffic and lower property values.

A county spokesman says the plan, which was constructed by a New York City consulting firm, is required by the Federal AviationAdministration.

Those that would like to see the overhaul say they would like to see more affordable air travel choices.

Ideas presented include new parking garages, renovated private hangars and two additional departure gates. But a spokesman says the ideas are hypothetical for now.
