Pelham man fatally stabbed in BronxPosted: Updated:
Police say a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death after a road rage incident.
The incident happened at the intersection of Huguenot and Hollers avenues in the Eastchester section of the Bronx around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say Bill Sierra, of Pelham, was riding inside of a car with friends when they came upon another car that appeared to have crashed.
Investigators say Sierra flashed the middle finger to the group of men inside the disabled vehicle.
According to police, Sierra and his friends took off but were followed by the other group of men who jumped into a second car and followed Sierra. They caught up with him less than a block away at Hollers Avenue and Eastchester Place. Investigators say that's where one of the men stabbed Sierra in the chest.
Sierra's friends tried to get him to the hospital but only made it a few blocks. They ended up in a parking lot outside a bagel shop on Boston Post Road and Pelhamdale Avenue in Pelham, then called 911.
He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center but later died, police say.
Officials say a 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the stabbing. Juan Garcia has been charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon
