New Rochelle leaders break ground on V HotelPosted: Updated:
New Rochelle leaders broke ground Friday on the V Hotel on Church Street – part of the city's new zoning initiative aimed at an economic rebirth in its historic downtown.
The initiative intends to bring up to 12 million square-feet of retail, office and housing to the area.
Mayor Noam Bramson says the new development will create a welcoming and vibrant business district.
Business owners who rely on foot traffic and nearby residents told News 12 that they are happy the project has broken ground.
Construction on the V Hotel will begin at the end of August. It's set to open in winter 2018.
