MOUNT VERNON -

Officials say Orville Bell, 27, was gunned down Sunday night at the intersection of Sargent Place and South Columbus Avenue in Mount Vernon.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m.

Nearby business owners say they believe a fight broke out after a party at Hutchinson Field Park. The party had been promoted on Instagram.

Police were at the scene Monday, gathering evidence and looking at surveillance video. They say it is not yet clear what led to the homicide or if anyone else was injured.

No arrests have been made.
