Church donates water bottles to East Ramapo campers

SPRING VALLEY -

Some campers in East Ramapo are staying cool this summer thanks to members of the community.

New water bottles were given out to kids attending camp at Lime Kiln Elementary.

Members of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church raised money to purchase about 1,200 of those bottles.

The school is currently fixing their water fountains, so children have been using plastic cups at a water station.

"I like this water bottle because it helps protect the environment," says fifth-grader Sebastian Simon.

"They don't have to keep using plastic cups and throwing them away. It also lets them know that the larger community cares about their education,” adds Father Stephen Hagerty.

The church will be handing out more water bottles to a total of five different schools in East Ramapo.
