Inmate convicted of weapon and drugs charges inside jail

An inmate has been convicted of having a weapon and drugs inside the Orange County Jail.

Corrections officers say that Jacques Harvey, 34, of Newburgh, was searched last year and was found carrying an X-ACTO knife, and bundles of marijuana and tobacco.

Harvey be sentenced next month and faces up to seven years in state prison.

Harvey was originally in jail for an alleged parole violation.
