New Rochelle house fire investigated as arson

NEW ROCHELLE -

Authorities are investigating a house fire Thursday on Park Avenue in New Rochelle as a case of arson.

At least two people were present in the home, which is subdivided into four apartments, at the time of the fire. News 12 is told everyone exited safely, though one person was treated for smoke inhalation. About a dozen people lived there.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. A K-9 unit was called to the scene.

The home's landlord refused to speak with News 12.

Residents say they do not believe the house is legally subdivided, and a source tells News 12 that is likely true.
