An Elmsford organization is using the game of golf to help give hope to wounded warriors.
Over 100 veterans from around the tri-state area were at the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point for what was called Graduation Day. The men and women were finishing up a six-week tour of duty to try their hand at golf, as part of the Met PGA HOPE program.
PGA professionals gave lessons to the veterans with a mission of utilizing golf as a rehabilitation tool to improve the veterans’ quality of life.
The program is in its third year and has served close to 400 veterans, with branches in Long Island, the Bronx and at West Point.
