Air show thrills thousands at Stewart airport

NEW WINDSOR -

Thousands of spectators turned out at Stewart International Airport for this year's New York Air Show.

A demonstration by the Blue Angels, the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, headlined over 30 military and civilian aircraft that were on display in the air and on the ground.

People stood patiently in lines for a first-hand look at these military aircraft. "We're flying over their houses sometimes, and I think it's great for them to actually come out, see the aircraft up close,” says Rank Staff Sgt. Matthew Rzomp.

Airmen say one of the best things about the air show is being able to share their love for what they do with the community. "We kind of take for granted how much fun our job really is and seeing the smiles on their faces and how excited they get about it makes it exciting for us as well," says Capt. Brian Monga, of the New York Air National Guard.
