SLEEPY HOLLOW -

A secretary accused of stealing more than $10,000 from the Sleepy Hollow Middle School will have to wait a month for her next court appearance.

Carol Ressa left court Monday after her hearing was rescheduled for July 17.

Investigators say Ressa, 53, stole checks from middle school students that were supposed to be used to pay for their lunches, yearbooks and the annual class trip to Washington, D.C.

Ressa, who has worked for the Tarrytown School District for 27 years, is on paid leave.

She faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
