YONKERS -

Hundreds of people in Yonkers were left without power Wednesday after a tractor-trailer crashed into two utility poles, knocking down power lines.

News 12 is told the driver of the vehicle may have gone the wrong way on Central Park Avenue, attempted to back up into a parking lot and smashed into the poles.

The driver then fled the scene.

Six Con Edison crews were at the scene trying to clear the area in time for rush hour.

As of Wednesday night, power was restored everywhere except for a strip of businesses along Central Park Avenue.
