NEWBURGH -

Volunteers are coming together Friday to clean up an inner-city neighborhood in Newburgh.

Both adults and children have begun gardening, painting and making repairs outside the Head Start on Gidney Avenue. Organizers say they love living locally and are happy to pitch in.

"Community is important right? When we all pitch in and make a difference it matters," says volunteer Eric Dahl. "People notice. We can all be part of making things the way we like it."

Volunteers are backed by local businesses and are cleaning up a few neighborhood areas with donated materials.
