The driver accused of causing a double fatal crash in New City while high on drugs had his arraignment postponed today.

Police say Matthew Sindone, 23, from Nanuet, was under the influence of Xanax Sunday when he ran a red light on Route 304 and crashed into a car, killing Aline and Neil Block, of New City. Police say Sindone had 14 2-milligram pills on him at the time of the crash.

A handcuffed and visibly injured Sindone stood hunched over in court in Clarkstown Monday. Sindone's arraignment was postponed until Friday to give him time to find an attorney. He is being charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence and driving without a license.

He is being held on $750,000 bail.
